Accessibility Statement | Mill Creek Encore Alliance Digital Accessibility Statement

Mill Creek Encore Alliance (MCEA)

Effective Date: August 24, 2026

1. Disability Inclusion and Compliance Objective

The Mill Creek Encore Alliance (MCEA) believes that theater must be accessible to everyone, both on the stage and across our digital interfaces. We are proactively dedicating operational resources to maximize web accessibility for students, parents, community patrons, and users with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, or neurological disabilities.

2. Technical Standard and Conformance Target

We design, construct, and evaluate our digital materials using the technical criteria defined by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA conformance. These guidelines define global criteria for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for screen readers, keyboard-only environments, and assistive devices.

3. Specific Accessibility Frameworks Integrated

To maintain rigorous interaction frameworks, our custom web tools—specifically including our multi-option "Get Involved" drop-down system, database entry panels, and ticketing modules—incorporate the following structural safeguards:

  • Programmatic Labeling: Form fields, select boxes, and text areas utilize clear Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) tags and explicit semantic labels to ensure assistive technologies can announce the function and location of every input element.
  • Logical Focus Order: Keyboard navigation pathways follow a structured tab layout, allowing users to move fluidly through choices without mouse dependence.
  • Color Contrast and Text Scaling: Layout elements observe strict contrast thresholds against background layers, allowing scalability without breaking readability.
  • Multi-Media Alternatives: Promotional graphics, casting lists, and structural documents are generated with alternative text descriptors or accessible text alternatives.

4. Compliance Assessment and Systematic Roadmap

While we make every effort to achieve seamless conformance, digital assets managed by volunteers can present unexpected formatting edge cases. MCEA conducts periodic evaluations of our page files to identify code defects. Please be aware that third-party extensions embedded for ticketing or payment processing are managed by external providers, though MCEA prioritizes vendors emphasizing digital accessibility.

5. Accessibility Support & Accommodation Requests

If you experience any friction, blockades, or parsing failures while attempting to access schedule tools, fill out involvement fields, or purchase performance seating, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to deliver the targeted information through alternative, non-digital mechanisms within forty-eight (48) business hours.
